Michelle Mendoza MD
Greetings! I am Dr. Michelle Mendoza and I am originally from San Antonio, Texas but I have been an El Pasoan since 2005. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After doing clinical research for two years I set my sights on going to Medical School. My Medical Doctor’s degree was obtained from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. The next stop on my journey would be Austin, Texas for an Internal medicine residency. I graduated from my residency with an invitation to be chief resident. I have been Board Certified in Internal Medicine since 2004. Hospital Medicine was my first job out of residency and this taught me the care of critically ill patients.
Upon moving to El Paso I worked in a traditional Internal Medicine clinic as a primary care physician. I have been fortunate to have held leadership positions as a Medical Director for a Hospice, Lead Physician for a Palliative care program, and Medical Director at a Skilled Nursing Facility. My career up to this point had taught me to care for patients with advanced medical illnesses including heart failure, end-stage renal disease, autoimmune disease, and diabetes. At a certain point, I developed an interest in preventive care to try to stop advanced medical illnesses from occurring. I began my training in Preventative Medicine, Aesthetic Medicine, and hormonal therapy in 2014. In 2016 I was able to open a Medspa. Over the last few years, Vitality Medical Spa has evolved into a Wellness Clinic specializing in Hormonal therapy and Weight Loss. We still offer Aesthetic Services such as Dysport, Facial Fillers, Micro-needling with platelet-rich plasma, and Chemical Peels. Vitality MD also offers high-quality nutraceuticals, vitamin injections, and Vitality Skin Essentials, a botanical-based skincare line.
My passion has become diet and lifestyle changes that lead to longevity and vitality. I love getting to know my patients and helping them live healthier lives. I will be completing an Integrative Medicine Fellowship soon. This has taught me to really see people from head to toe, to consider mind, body, and spirit in their care. My other love is my family. In my time with them, I treasure taking long walks, cooking, gardening, and practicing yoga. When I cook with my husband, I try each time to make it a mindful experience. By appreciating the sound of the veggies being chopped, inhaling the fragrance of the herbs being used for seasoning, stress just seems to dissipate. My wish for you is that you find your happiness and the best way for you to live a life filled with Vitality.
Wishing you wealth in health,
Michelle Mendoza, MD
Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine
