Aftercare instructions should continue for the duration of your treatments and for one month after the final treatment.

  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 1 week.
  • Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours.
  • Cleanse skin morning and night with Limu cleanser.
  • Pat skin dry with a soft towel, do not rub. Avoid excessive heat from all sources including sauna, hot tubs, hot yoga, and strenuous workouts.
  • Apply Complex C Serum and Restorative Marine Moisturizer twice daily to calm and hydrate skin.
  • Apply Advance Protection SPF daily, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Aloe and Azulene Gel Masque should be used at least twice weekly, beginning the day after treatment.
  • Do not use a sponge, cloth, Clarisonic, or other brush to cleanse the skin.
  • Do not pick, scratch, or rub the skin.
  • Hair removal, facials, laser services, and other facial treatments/procedures must be avoided for at least 30 days.

Full results will be seen in approximately 12 weeks. 3-4 sessions should be performed at four-week intervals and once yearly for maintenance. Results will be enhanced by the continued and consistent use of quality products at home as part of a thorough home care routine.

Pre Pellet Insertion Instructions

Avoid alcohol, fish oil, Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aspirin, Aleeve, Midol, Pamprin, Celebrex, Mobic, and other drugs in this class), oral vitamins A, D, E, and K, CLA and other fat metabolizing supplements three days prior to pellet insertion. These drugs can cause increased likelihood of bleeding.

Post Pellet Insertion Instructions

Remove pressure dressing after 24 hours leaving the steri-strip in place.
Keep wound completely dry until the following day. After that, showering is OK. Avoid soaking in tubs, pools, or baths for at least 3 days.
Leave steri-strip on wound until it falls off (usually 7 days).
Avoid vigorous exercise for 72 hours to reduce chance of bruising, oozing, or infection, or delayed wound healing. Avoid massage therapy at pellet site.
A little redness, bruising, and swelling for 3-7 days is normal. The area may be tender for 4-14 days (possibly more for men)

Avoid Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aspirin, Aleve, Celebrex, Midol, Pamprin, Mobic, and other drugs in this class  )  while on BHRT therapy as they may interfere with the absorption of the pellet. If pain medication is needed, Tylenol may be used.

If you have continued bleeding, significant redness, pain (without putting pressure on the wound), warmth, fever, or pus from the wound, call us immediately—you might need an antibiotic. This happens rarely, but infection is always a possibility with any kind of invasive procedure.
